Reverse planning, living in an alternate Universe

Or maybe a parallel one. You know the whole ‘sliding doors’ thing, where you look back over decisions you’ve made at pivotal times in your life and wonder what if… Well, I’ve been doing a lot of that lately, not to be a bummer or anything but I’m not exactly where I thought I’d be at this point in my life.

Don’t get me wrong, this is NOT a sob story, in fact it’s probably the complete opposite, more of a ‘what was the grand plan?’ story.

You see, when I was a teen I had a bit of a plan and I was taking baby steps toward that plan. I was pretty clear about my life direction. I never knew the ‘hows’, just the ‘whats’.

As it turns out, due to choices I made at those pivotal times, my grand plan didn’t work out. Actually not only did my plan not work out the way I thought it would, my timeline seems to be almost running in reverse.

It seems amazing to me that so many of my friends and the people I meet along the way have a similar story. That of not being where they thought they would be at this point in their lives. The circumstances differ of course but some people I talk to about this very same thing share my experience of their plan running in reverse.

Choosing past, present and future

So many wonderful things have happened for me in my life so I’m definitely not complaining but my ‘reverse plan’ has certainly raised some questions. Interesting questions around topics such as those related to our understanding of time – the past, present and future – and quantum physics.

Our understanding now is that time isn’t real or linear, in the way many of us were taught. In fact, we can design our present by choosing our future. Arranging life like a giant limitless chess board, with the ultimate vision of winning the game by reverse engineering or deconstructing each move from one side of the board to the other.

This has been the most fantastic realisation for me. Using a combination of some of the greatest life designing tools – meditation, tarot, astrology and numerology – life has become a much more engaging, interesting, empowering and joyful game.

If I knew at a much younger age what I know now would I have done anything differently? I’ll never know the answer to that but looking through my eyes now I would have to say no because what I have now is so incredibly valuable, my family, my friends, the life I lead.

There have been great challenges along the way but every path has plenty of those, they just come in a different box under different circumstances, and they all shape us.

I will say though, that seeing through a much bigger lens has enabled me to have loads more fun playing the game, and isn’t that the aim of the game?

I would love to know how you are using these tools to choose your own adventure, from future to present.
